every two weeks, wash the utensil by hand in warm soapy water fairly quickly; after washing, dry with a cloth and let air dry. do not wash under the tap;

apply a mineral oil to the wood every once in a while, to prevent the wood from drying out and cracking. (we recommend using a food-safe oil and applying it with a clean paper towel)
